Women Taking Climate Action Award

About the award

The Zonta Club of Melbourne on Yarra’s Women Taking Climate Action Award is for recognition of climate change action that

• engages with women
• contributes to the global efforts towards climate change innovation.

The award winner will receive $1,000.
The award is open between 7 June 2021 and 27 August 2021.
The award supports the Zonta Says NOW to gender equality and climate action work coordinated by Zonta District 23.
District 23 includes the Northern Territory, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.

Who can apply

To be eligible for the award applicants must

• identify as a woman (cisgender or transgender)
• be a resident of Zonta District 23.

Applications are sought on innovative activities or achievements that assist in climate change

• mitigation
• adaptation
• communication, advocacy or service.

What you need to do

You must • submit your completed application form to info@zontamelborneonyarra.org.au by midnight Friday 27 August
• provide contact details of two referees – people who can attest to your climate change action either in a professional or a personal capacity

How the winner will be selected
Selection will be based on the application with the top-ranked applicants interviewed online by the selection committee.
The award recipient will be invited to speak at a Zonta club meeting (online or in person).
